Newly-elected MLCs of Congress party, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Damodar Reddy, took oath as members of the Telangana State Legislative Council here on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: Newly-elected MLCs of Congress party, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Damodar Reddy, took oath as members of the Telangana State Legislative Council here on Wednesday.

The MLCs, along with senior Congress leaders, including Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy, MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Nandi Yellaiah, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, D K Aruna and Komatireddy Venkatreddy, first came to the Gun Park opposite Assembly building.

After paying tributes to Telangana martyrs, they proceeded to the Council where Rajagopal Reddy and Damodar Reddy were administered oath by Council Chairman Swamy Goud.

Speaking to media persons later, Sukhender Reddy thanked the voters of Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar LACs for voting for the Congress candidates. He alleged that the TRS had adopted unethical practices to win the recently held MLC elections. He said the Congress would have won more seats if elections were held in a fair manner.
