Chain snatcher caught while trying to escape
A chain snatcher was caught at Prasanth Nagar under Langer Houz police station limits after he tumbled from a building while trying to escape.
Hyderabad: A chain snatcher was caught at Prasanth Nagar under Langer Houz police station limits after he tumbled from a building while trying to escape.
The police admitted the alleged thief to a hospital for treatment as he was injured when fell from the top of the building.
According to police, the alleged thief accosted a 40-year-old woman and attempted to snatch the gold chain from her.
When the woman raised alarm, he fled from the place and climbed up a three-storey building nearby.
He jumped from the third floor of the building in a bid to escape when an iron rod pierced into his leg.
Undeterred by the injury, he ran for half a kilometre before he was caught by the local people.
He was handed over to the police later. “We will question him and take up investigation after he recovers,” the police said.
