Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President and Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tweet that “Rohith’s death will not go in vain.”

Addressing the agitating students at the University of Hyderabad here, Owaisi wondered why the Prime Minister had failed to say “sorry” over the incident. “Can’t the Prime Minister open his mouth and stand up for the cause of Dalit and youth of the nation,” he said.

“The struggle you embarked upon will be long one. Because people entrenched in power will not allow justice to succeed. But we will have to try that justice is ensured. The next generation should not face such discrimination,” he said.

He further said “Dalit and Muslims families do a lot of sacrifices to send their wards to the universities.” Coming down heavily on University Vice Chancellor Prof P Appa Rao, he said “I say shame on you Appa Rao.

I find that no humanity is left in you. Remember Appa Rao that today it is Rohith, tomorrow it may be your son. This person is responsible
for rusticating 11 Dalit students earlier. I know two such students, they are facing problems in getting jobs till now.”
