Warangal: A Chemistry professor, Gade Dayakar has been elected as the president of Association of Kakatiya University Teachers (AKUT).

An assistant professor in geology, R Mallikarjun Reddy has been elected as general secretary. The elections for AKUT president and general secretary posts were held on Friday and counting of votes took place on Saturday.

V Sree Devi was elected as vice-president while K Kishore Kumar as joint secretary, K Sujatha as treasurer and B Radhika Rani, B Suresh Lal, Gade Pani, G Rajender, N Sudarshan, V Swaroopa Rani, V Ramchandram and T Jaganmohan Raju were elected unanimously as executive body members. The term of their office is two years.
