Khammam: The Progressive Democratic Students’ Union (PDSU) has demanded the withdrawal of the cases filed against the PDSU leaders who requested the Chief Minister, during his two-day visit to Khammam, for the release of fee reimbursement. The organisation conducted a rally from Mayuri Centre protesting the government’s decision to slap cases on PDSU leaders and staged a dharna at Dharna Chowk, here on Thursday.

Speaking at the dharna, PDSU district president Prudhvi said, “When the leaders in the united AP tried to suppress the Telangana movement by arresting K Chandrashekar Rao, it was the PDSU that opposed Andhra rulers and supported him to take the movement forward.”

The PDSU which fought for separation of Telangana would also fight the dictatorship of the Chief Minister without fear, he averred. He warned that PDSU will launch a movement against the government if the cases filed against the student body’s leadership are not withdrawn.

PDSU leaders Sandhya, Suresh, Ashok, Sunil, B Madhu, Swarupa, Manikanta, Seetha, Prasanna, Thirupathi Rao, Sharada, Lavanya Shiricha and Giri were present at the programme.
