MRPS writ adjourned to Monday

Justice P V Sanjay Kumar of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday adjourned to Monday the writ plea of Manda Krishna Madiga, who is spearheading a demand for further classification of Scheduled Castes in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The petitioner complained that police in AP, especially in Chittoor and Anatapur, refused permission for a procession. Earlier the court had directed the police to consider his application in accordance with law. The application for the procession was rejected.

The State government through its advocate contended that school examinations are on in the districts and any procession would amount to huge public inconvenience.
