Nalgonda: Congress MLA and former Minister from Nalgonda district Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Wednesday charged the ruling party for not living up to the expectations of the people. The TRS government failed to keep its promises to develop the rural areas, he said. The former Minister interacted with the media on the Assembly lobbies.

He said the State government was incurring wrath from people as rural areas were not being developed as expected. “Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi conceded statehood to Telangana honouring her promise but the TRS regime was not meeting the expectations of the people,” he charged.

Komatireddy alleged that Power Minister Jagadish Reddy has colluded with Congress MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy to defeat his brother Rajgopal Reddy during last MLC elections unsuccessfully. He also denied that he has any plans to join the ruling party. “Right now I have no such plans and will ask the government to take up development works instead,” Venkat Reddy said.

TRS leader Jeevan Reddy joined him at the lobbies and suggested that Venkat Reddy join the ruling party for an elevated position. “The party is expected to give him a good position if he joins,” Jeevan Reddy said. However, Venkat Reddy politely rejected the offer. “I am not here to make any immediate statement and will not criticise the government. I will press the ruling party for development of my home district Nalgonda and Telangana,” he said.
