Warangal: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary, G Neelima, has called upon all the organisations, working on women rights and victims of domestic violence, to come under one platform. All the non-governmental agencies should come together and work in coordination with governmental agencies so that the target groups could be served better, she said while addressing a gathering at a coordination meeting of the NGOs and government departments.

The meeting was jointly organised by the DLSA and the town-based NGO, called Sarvodaya Youth Association supported by Karl Kübel Foundation (KKS) and German Federal Ministry for Economic and Development. The representatives of ICDS, ICPS, IMA, DRDA, MEPMA, Lions Clubs, police department and different NGOs attended the meeting in Hanamkonda on Monday.

The DLSA secretary explained that if all the organisations work in coordination, it would help the women to know whom to contact for the problem she was facing. Uniformity should be maintained while providing counselling to the effected women. On behalf of the DLSA programmes to train and create awareness on women laws would be given to paralegal voluntaries so that they could help the distressed women

CI P Venkateshwarlu said the police were trying to resolve family disputes through counselling centres set up by NGOs like Sarvodaya at different police stations. SC Corporation Executive Officer P Kumara Swamy said they were offering loans and training to women to emerge as entrepreneurs.

Sarvodaya Youth Association secretary P Damodar, urban women police station SI Rajyalaksmi, DRDA representatives Prudhviraj and Krishnaveni, MEPMA administrative officer Anjaneyulu and others were present.
