Hyderabad: Chief Commissioner of Land Administration Raymond Peter has said that it is the duty of the district Collectors to protect government lands. He was reviewing Section 22-A (1)(a to e) of the Registration Act, preparation of reports on endowment and Wakf lands, registration of lands, mutation and other issues with joint Collectors through video conference.

Advising them to list endowment land records in the pro forma circulated to authorities, he asked them to ensure that charitable trust lands are being registered as per the Endowments Act conform to relevant format regularly. Directing them to scrutiny various assets under Section 43 (e), he told them to regularly inspect government lands and protect them besides notifying the government lands. Since Wakf records are available, he asked revenue and Wakf officials to pay attention to preserving them properly.

Asking the district Collectors to review all kinds of lands every month, he wanted the joint Collectors to identify the government lands and upload the details regularly. All lands registered since June 2 last year are listed in Tahsildar’s portal, he said adding that mutation of land records is yet to be completed in respect of some lands. All land records should invariably have digital signatures. He enquired with the officials about technical problems being faced in maintenance of the land records and maintenance of disputes register and other aspects.

He instructed Hyderabad Joint Collector Bharati Holikeri to update data on government, endowment and Wakf lands. She brought to the notice of CCLA how the registration department officials were not according TS number to the lands registered and also not mentioning the boundaries of the land registered.

The CCLA said that CMRO third and fourth quarter budgets have been released. He asked her to send him data on ACRs and disciplinary cases as early as possible. Principal Secretary Meena, Endowments Secretary Siva Sankar, In-charge Additional Joint Collector Ashok Kumar and others took part in the programme.
