VCs to be appointed by April 16
Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari assured that all the vacant positions of Vice Chancellors in various universities of Telangana would be filled up by April 16. While giving reply to short discussion on the educational system in the State in Legislative Council on Tuesday, the Minister said that a search committee’ would be formed for filling up vacant positions of Vice Chancellors.
Hyderabad: Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari assured that all the vacant positions of Vice Chancellors in various universities of Telangana would be filled up by April 16. While giving reply to short discussion on the educational system in the State in Legislative Council on Tuesday, the Minister said that a ‘search committee’ would be formed for filling up vacant positions of Vice Chancellors in various universities.
He informed that the government would be calling a meeting of all stakeholders including, teachers, legislatures and intellectuals for resolving the matter. “The State government is committed to adopting a new educational policy for attaining the vision of ‘Golden Telangana’. We shall be filling all the vacant positions of VCs by April 16,” he said.
The Minister held that since most of the universities, including Osmania University, lost their NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation, the government had decided to find a solution for this problem. “We shall be revamping and strengthening the entire educational system so that we provide a better tomorrow for the State,” he added.
