Hyderabad: Justice Challa Kodandaram of the High Court at Hyderabad directed the Registrar of University of Hyderabad and Cyberabad Commissioner of Police to take measures to prevent entry of political leaders and outsiders into the campus as these persons were vitiating the education atmosphere on the university campus.

The judge passed these orders while hearing the petition filed by Professor Gali Vinod Kumar who sought direction from the court to the authorities for taking steps to restoration of peace, harmony, law and order and academic atmosphere on the campus.

The senior counsel for the petitioner, Nazeer Khan, informed the court that the political and organisation leaders were making provocative speeches during their meetings on the campus and this was spoiling the academic atmosphere and harming the interests of the students and parents. The university by allowing these meetings was harming its autonomy, said the counsel. The judge passed orders directing immediate halt to holding of all such meetings.
