Karimnagar: The government has decided to give Rs 5.25 lakh per acre to the displaced, who lost their land under Gandipalli-Gouravelli reservoir.

In a meeting with the oustees here on Wednesday, District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad urged the oustees to cooperate for the construction of the reservoir as the government within its limits has decided to pay Rs 5.25 lakh per acre and Rs 6.25 lakh per acre for the land that have constructions or borewells.

She said that the government will acquire land implementing Land Acquisition Act, if the displaced are unwilling to cooperate with the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Husnabad MLA V Sathish Kumar also urged the oustees to cooperate with the government.

He assured them to provide compensation as quickly as possible. Joint Collector Pausumi Basu, trainee Collector Gowtham, Land Acquisition Special Collector Venkateshwarlu and Karimnagar RDO Chandrasekhar were among others present.
