Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s dream of graft-free governance is under progress as almost all the departments in the State from gram panchayat to Secretariat level in the administration offering citizen-centric services have finalised proposals to root out corruption at every stage.

Many departments, particularly Revenue, Registration and Stamps, Education, Health, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Police, Industries and Transport, have already enforced reforms in the delivery of citizen services to check corruption from bottom to high levels by adopting new age technology.

Some departments - Agriculture, Social Welfare, SC, ST and Minority welfare, Women and Child Development and Energy are busy finalising strategies to check corruption in their services. The TS-iPASS scheme, launched by the Industries department to check the institutional corruption in granting permissions is yielding good results.

The recent e-challan system for property registrations launched by the State Stamps and Registration department has reduced corruption levels in the local Registrar offices. Many other initiatives are also in the pipeline, which include reducing litigation cases brought to light in the growing realty business, Deputy Inspector General (Revenue and Stamps) G Madhusudhan Reddy told The Hans India.

He said the department was preparing some more proposals to check corruption at every level on the instruction of the government. The Transport department, which has been rated as one of the highly corrupt department, abolished the middlemen role in the delivery of services like issuance of licenses and vehicle registrations.

An official source in the department said making availability of mobile apps to render services in recent times was the cornerstone in eliminating corruption in the department. Similarly, the Police department gave top priority to transparency in the delivery of services. The new app - 'verifast and verify' brought down corruption during passport verification and another app ‘hawkeye’ enabled people to lodge complaints against the officials who demanded bribe for official work.

The officials said that all the welfare departments were engrossed in adopting corruption free service delivery systems. The schemes like disbursement of scholarships and fee reimbursement to poor students, benefits of welfare schemes like pensions, housing and distribution of essential commodities through fair price shops reaching the beneficiaries would be made corruption free soon.
