Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is all set to distribute the 1,113 plots at Uppal-Bhagat to the Project-Affected Families (PAF) after a long wait of 10 years.

Speaking to media persons after a review of the '100 Days of HMDA Action Plan' works here on Wednesday, HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu said that due to the court cases filed by farmers in Uppal-Bhagat area, the allotment was delayed.

"Now that the cases have been cleared, allotment letters are ready for distribution to the PAFs of Kongarkalan, Adibatla, Turkyamjal, Bonglur, Koheda, Amberpet, etc.," he said. The ex gratia amount of Rs 7.65 crore was also paid to Saroornagar RDO for distribution to the beneficiaries, he added.

Talking about the action his department had taken to complete the works in the last few days, the HMDA Commissioner said that they had started a new online system for receiving the building and layout permission applications, launched a toll-free number for grievance redressal system, cleared field inspection of about 4,000 LRS applications, completed ORR targeted works, diverted Kukatpally nala, and purchased areators and engines required to clean Hussain Sagar.

He said that the authority had completed all the major works that they had planned. Chiranjeevulu said that another long-delayed work of regularising 6,743 land applications under the land regularisation scheme of 2007 was pending. "We have set a target of March 31, 2017, to complete the regularisation of all the pending applications," he added.
