The country is looking at Telangana State which has been making fast strides towards Golden Telangana under the leadership of CM K Chandrashekar Rao, said Deputy CM K Srihari.
​Warangal: ‘The country is looking at Telangana State which has been making fast strides towards ‘Golden Telangana’ under the leadership of CM K Chandrashekar Rao,’ said Deputy CM K Srihari. Speaking after hoisting the National Flag at police parade grounds in Hanamkonda on Thursday marking Telangana Formation Day celebrations, he said the Telangana government was the only government, which is spending Rs 3,000 crores on welfare schemes.
‘State making rapid strides towards Golden Telangana’
The CM has taken revolutionary steps like allocating Rs 300 crores in the State budget for the development of Warangal as a second capital after Hyderabad during the past two years. As a result, Warangal was made as part of the Central government’s ‘Smart City’ project.
Every Mandal headquarters in the district was being connected to district headquarters with four-lane roads by spending around Rs 1620.14 crores. Similarly many national highways under progress, Srihari said. He listed out various other welfare and development programmes being taken by the TRS government.
Marking the Formation Day celebrations the Deputy CM has launched the adult education programme. ‘It aims to turn the entire illiterate population into literates by next World Literacy Day,’ he said while appreciating the district administration for taking up the programme. As part of the celebrations, he distributed appointment letters of government jobs to the family members of 101 Telangana Martyrs.
65 people were given class-IV jobs, 12 were given VRO posts and 24 were given junior assistant posts as their qualifications. About 72 persons from different walks of life were given awards and cash prizes for their excellence in their field of work.
Earlier, Srihari along with ZP chairperson G Padma, MP A Seetaram Naik, MLAs D Vinay Bhaskar, K Surekha, mayor N Narendar, district collector V Karuna, Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu, rural SP AK Jha and others have paid rich tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial at Adalath Centre.
Commemorating the occasion, Mayor Narendar, Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and others have carried a 100-metre long national flag from Public Gardens to Adalath Centre in Hanamkonda. Colourful cultural programmes, photo exhibitions, distribution of tricycles and sweets were part of the celebrations.
A ‘Kavi Sammelanam’ was held at ZP Hall where scores of poets like Kovela Suprasannacharyulu, Potlapalli Srinivasa Rao, Rama Chandamouli, VR Vidyarthi, Anishetty Rajitha, Banna Ilaiah, V Kantha Rao, Nellutla Rama Devi and others rendered poems.
