Hyderabad: Alleging that some 15 to 20 senior Congress leaders were passing time by thinking they would be Chief Ministerial candidate in the next elections, Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy lashed out at the Telangana Congress party leadership for daydreaming. He said the Congress party in Telangana needed immediate surgery, otherwise the party should get ready for post-mortem.

Speaking to the media after meeting Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao here on Saturday, Komatireddy targeted PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Venkat Reddy alleged that the present PCC chief was more inefficient than the former PCC chief Ponnala Laxmaiah. He demanded that Uttam tender resignation owning responsibility for failure of party in the recent elections.

He said the party faced defeat in the recent elections just because of party leadership’s laziness and lack of seriousness. He said he would have made the party win the election or he would have tendered resignation owning responsibility of party candidate’s defeat. The Congress MLA said he would address a letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi on the party condition in the State.

He said that the party would not get strengthened if the leadership only addressed press meets while sitting in Gandhi Bhavan. He said his brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy lost MP election in 2014 general elections just because of Uttam Kumar Reddy’s group politics. Uttam Kumar Reddy distributed money in three constituencies only to defeat Rajagopal Reddy, he asserted. He demanded the party high command to announce the Chief Minister candidate’s name now.
