Hyderabad A 30-year-old private employee, accused of cheating 10 women to an extent of Rs 2.5 crore, filed a petition with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday alleging that the Chilkalguda inspector was taking the side of people who threatened to kill her.

The woman S Lalitha who works as a senior sales manager in an insurance company and her husband S Srivatsav, were booked in a case of cheating. The Banjara Hills police on Sunday booked a case on the couple for allegedly duping 10 women of Rs 2.5 crore on the pretext of providing them with villas in Visakhapatnam.

In her petition to SHRC, Lalitha said, “I had taken a hand loan of Rs 12 lakh from my colleagues in 2015 and returned thrice the amount. But they started demanding the principal amount from me again and even threatened me.

Then I lodged a complaint with the Chilkalguda police on March 18, but inspector K Srinivasulu and SI Venkatadri are threatening me saying they would book me under the PD Act. I face a threat from them.”

The Banjara Hills police on Monday issued notices to the couple under section 41 CPC to attend for questioning and the woman on Tuesday approached SHRC which directed the police to give a report on her allegations.

Speaking to The Hans India, Chilkalguda inspector K Srinivas said, “Lalitha’s allegations are false. She is an accused in two cases of cheating booked in Chilkalguda police station and was earlier arrested by the city police in 2012 in a similar offense. ”
