115 cr allotted for Nizamsagar modernisation

The government of Telangana has sanctioned necessary permissions for the modernisation works of Nizamsagar. The TS government issued orders allotting Rs 115 crore towards commencement of the works.
Hyderabad: The government of Telangana has sanctioned necessary permissions for the modernisation works of Nizamsagar. The TS government issued orders allotting Rs 115 crore towards commencement of the works.
Known to be the biggest project of that time, it was constructed across the Manjira River. Construction of this project was launched in 1923 and was completed in 1931.
The modernisation work was initiated by then chief minister YS R to plug breaches to save enormous leakage of water. The 155-km long modernisation work comprises strengthening of banks and cement lining.
