Cop dies of gunshot
R Shiva Kumar Chary (25), a native of Mancherial in Adilabad district was working in Telangana State Special Police wing 13 battalion and was posted at Begumpet OCTOPUS office.
Hyderabad: A 25-year-old police constable working in OCTOPUS (Organisation for Counter Terrorist Operations) died under suspicious conditions in Begumpet, on Sunday.
R Shiva Kumar Chary (25), a native of Mancherial in Adilabad district was working in Telangana State Special Police wing 13 battalion and was posted at Begumpet OCTOPUS office.
On Sunday at about 6.20 pm, when his colleagues were standing outside the office, they heard a gunshot from the room in which Shiva Kumar was present.
When they entered the room, they saw Shiva Kumar lying in a pool of blood and immediately rushed him to Yashoda hospital in Secunderabad, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival. Apparently, the bullet had pierced into his head from his throat.
Shiva Kumar was carrying a 9 mm pistol and also an AK-47. However, the Begumpet police have registered a case of suspicious death and are probing whether it was an accident or a suicide.
