Hyderabad: A two judge bench of the High court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale and Justice P Naveen Rao on Wednesday summoned T Chiranjeevulu, the acting Vice Chancellor of Kakatiya University to be in court to purge himself of charges of contempt of court.

The bench is dealing with a contempt case filed by N Vinita Naini, who complained that the University authorities had failed to implement directions given by the court in March 2015.

According to the Petitioner, she had moved the High Court along with others, complaining about their non-selection and the selection of certain others. A single judge had allowed the writ petitions.

The bench directed the University to constitute Executive Council and make the regular appointments.
In the present contempt case it was complained that though the order was made way back in 2015, the Vice Chancellor had failed to carry out the directions.
