Dr Prakash Chand Jain, an illustrious scientist from Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) was inducted as Fellow of Telangana Academy of Sciences in the field of Engineering Sciences for his marvellous contributions in the area of Rocket Structures. 

Hyderabad: Dr Prakash Chand Jain, an illustrious scientist from Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) was inducted as Fellow of Telangana Academy of Sciences in the field of Engineering Sciences for his marvellous contributions in the area of Rocket Structures.

Dr Jain an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay and BOYSCAST (DST) fellow from Pennsylvania State University USA is an expert in the areas Structural Optimisation, Structural Dynamics and Nonlinear Structures Technologies. He significantly contributed towards the success of various National Projects.

In a recently held function Dr Ch Mohan Rao president Telangana Academy of Sciences conferred the Fellowship to Dr Jain in the august presence of Dr Ashutosh Sharma Secretary Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi and other distinguished scientists.

The Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS) was formed after the bifurcation of the State into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with the objectives of advancement of Science in Telangana. Earlier, it used to function only as one unit-A P Akademi of Sciences.

TAS has five regional centres in the districts of Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Warangal, Karimnagar and Hyderabad to increase the regional participation. TAS is putting its best efforts; so the benefits of Science and Technology reach the common man in Telangana.

The Fellowship of the Telangana Academy of Sciences comprised of eminent Scientists from research, academic and industrial institutions.
