A mock election was organised at Alphores High School here on Friday to provide awareness to the students on the election process prevailing in the country. The students, who contested the elections, went to various classes to campaign about the allotted symbols and canvassed. The school was divided into MK Gandhi House, Subash Chandra Bose, Swamy Vivekananda House and Mother Teresa House. 

Karimnagar: A mock election was organised at Alphores High School here on Friday to provide awareness to the students on the election process prevailing in the country.

The students, who contested the elections, went to various classes to campaign about the allotted symbols and canvassed. The school was divided into MK Gandhi House, Subash Chandra Bose, Swamy Vivekananda House and Mother Teresa House.

The students cast their votes in compliance with the proviso of the code of conduct for the contestants for the post of the Collector and Joint Collector.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Alphores Group of Educational Institutions V Narender Reddy said elections are the vital determinants of the progress of the country and people, who in turn make the country achieve the status of developing.

‘The Right to vote is the most valuable weapon made available by our constitution to the citizens who have completed 18 years of age. The election procedure, which is being conducted in India, is certainly idealistic to other nations in the world,’ he added.
Principal, faculty and students took part in the programme.
