Hyderabad: Life of the seven-year-old daughter of deceased Congolese national Cynthia Rachel has become more mystified as the courts were also unable to take a decision on giving the girl’s custody either to her paternal family or maternal family.

Rupesh Kumar Mohnani, father of Sania brutally murdered her mother Cynthia on June 3. The very next day, Rupesh was arrested by the Shamashabad police and was remanded. The police had then handed over the girl to her paternal grandparents who live in Gachibowli.

After two days of the arrest of Rupesh, the deceased woman’s brother Danis along with some Congolese nationals and others approached the Shamshabad police demanding Sania’s custody, but the girl showed interest to live with her paternal grandparents.

The police had taken the girl to Rajendranagar court, appealing it to give directions by naming the guardians of Sania. The court asked the police to file a petition in the LB Nagar family court, but the LB Nagar family court rejected the plea and told the police to file petition in the court that covers the jurisdiction of the scene of offence.

On Friday evening, when the police brought the girl back to the Rajendranagar court, it adjourned the arguments to Monday, asking the police to keep the girl with Kasturba Trust at Hydershakote for safe custody till the final decision on her guardianship was taken.
