New Delhi: BJP Telangana State unit has appealed to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to initiate disqualification proceedings against Asaduddin Owaisi, MP and president of AIMIM, for his offer of legal aid to the suspected ISIS terrorists nabbed in Hyderabad recently.

A delegation of the BJP unit led by former president of Telangana BJP G Kishan Reddy and comprising former Minister N Janradhan Reddy, B Bal Reddy and , MLA N V S S Prabhakarmet Rajnath Singh on Saturday to complain about the anti-national and divisive statements of the Owaisi brothers recently and in the past. Pointing out that it was inappropriate of a public representative to offer legal aid to terrorists and lending moral support to those who have been indoctrinated for terrorist activity.

Praising the NIA for its timely arrest of the terrorists, they said a catastrophe has been avoided.
Drawing the Home Minister's attention to the controversial and incendiary statements of the Owaisi brothers and their abusive phrases against the Hindu Gods and Goddesses, they said the junior Owaisi had even challenged the Indian State in the past by asking it to remove the police from the streets for 15 minutes to see the fate of Hindus of the land.

Despite several cases filed against them, the TRS Government was complicating the matters by hobnobbing with the brothers which had a demoralising effect on the police force which was sacrificing its lives in the line of duty to the nation.

The Centre should immediately get a report from the Governor on the status of all these cases to act against the Owaisi brothers, they suggested. BJP national president Amit Shah on Friday had advised the Telangana leaders to launch a "Hyderabad Bachao" campaign to protect the city and the State from the terrorists and their sympathisers.

No one should be allowed to pursue anti-national activity in the State nor Hyderabad could be made its headquarters, Amit Shah said. He was also particular that the TRS Government’s tacit support to such activity by Owaisi brothers be exposed.
