A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday took on file a 87 - page report of a committee on the status of various homes in the twin states of Telangana and AP for persons rescued from child labour and sex work.

The bench granted two weeks time to Amicus Curie D. Prakash Reddy to go through the report and make his submissions in the matter. The Committee headed by Senior Advocate L. Ravichander had three lady members- Vijayalakshmi and nominee government Pleaders Vidyavathi and Vani Reddy - of the governments of AP and Telangana respectively.
The bench is dealing with two writ pleas complaining of large scale failures by the government in properly rehabilitating sex workers and child labour. The writ petitions were filed by local NGO Prajwala.
