Nalgonda: Local MP Gutha Sukender Reddy has urged people to take part actively in Haritha Haram programme to make the State a ‘Haritha Telangana.’
On Tuesday, he participated in a Haritha Haram programme at 14th, 16th wards of Nalgonda town and at Buddaram village in Nalgonda mandal.
Later, speaking on the occasion, the MP said that North Telangana was recording the above rainfall due to sufficient green coverage whereas South Telangana, particularly Nalgonda with poor 5.83 percentage forest area against recommended 33 percent green cover was facing severe drought every summer.
He advised people to take care of the planted saplings till they grow.
Nalgonda Municipality in-charge Commissioner Satyanarayana, TRS Nalgonda constituency in-charge Dubbaka Narasimha Reddy, local councillors Abbagoni Kavitha, Kesani Kavitha, Thipparthy MPP Pasham Ram Reddy, TRS leaders Abbagoni Ramesh, Venu Gopal Reddy, Nalgonda ZPTC Tummala Radha Linga Swamy, advocates Nukala Narasimha Reddy, Sandhya Rani and local public participated in the programme.
