Hyderabad: Telangana State government's decision of transferring the assets of Dairy Development Board at Lalapet in Hyderabad to the management of Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation (TSDDCF) vide G.O. MS No. 8 issued on May 6 this year was challenged in the High Court at Hyderabad by the Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative Federation (APDDCF) on the ground that it violated provisions of AP Reorganisation Act 2014.

AP Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas argued before the division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice P Naveen Rao that the APDDCF was listed in IX Schedule in the Act among other government companies and corporations and as per Section 68 of the Act, the assets, rights and liabilities of the companies and corporations shall be apportioned between the successor states in the manner provided in Section 53. This was violated, he charged.

TS Advocate General K Ramkrishna Reddy said the assets of APDDCF belonged to Telangana State since its headquarters are located in the territory of Telangana State and on that basis the GO was issued. He informed the court that two floors were earmarked to the APDDCF.

The bench intervened to say that the G.O. gave an impression that all assets had been transferred to TSDDCF. The AG informed the bench that he would get clarification on the GO from the authorities. The case has been posted to next week.
