Hyderabad: The State’s flagship programme Haritha Haram was for a greener Telangana that would fetch abundant rains.
He participated at a plantation drive programme that was conducted on the premises of National Academy of Construction here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Tummala said, “The forest cover at present is 24 per cent and needs to be expanded to 33 per cent to attract good rains.”
He also exhorted people, institutions and officials to make sincere efforts to protect the saplings planted.
