NIA gets terror suspects custody for 7 more days
Amidst heavy security, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday produced four terror suspects in court after completion of their eight days custody. The agency sought custody of one of the accused persons for another seven days for in-depth investigation.
​Hyderabad: Amidst heavy security, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday produced four terror suspects in court after completion of their eight days custody. The agency sought custody of one of the accused persons for another seven days for in-depth investigation.
With the central security agencies alerting the police about possible attack on the arrested accused persons, heavy bandobust was put in place at the court premises. Special parties, including black commandos, were also called in, sources said.
On June 29, the NIA had arrested Ibrahim Yazdani alias Ibbu, Habeeb Mohammed alias Sir, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi alias Fahad and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan, from various parts of Old City in Hyderabad for conspiring to carry out attacks in Hyderabad.
Later, on July 12, two more from old city, Ataullah Rahman and Yaser Naimathullah were arrested. The NIA had taken custody of Ibrahim, Iliyas, Ataullah Rahman and Yaser for questioning.
After producing them in the court on Tuesday, the NIA requested the special court to grant custody of accused Ataullah Rahman for seven more days, as it wanted to take him to New Delhi for further investigation. The other accused persons were shifted to Cherlapally central prison.
Sources said that the NIA wanted further custody of Ataullah, who is proficient in Arabic, and was trying to influence the youngsters to work for the ISIS.
Considering the plea, judge K Raj Kumar permitted seven days custody of Ataullah to NIA and also permitted the agency to take him to New Delhi. It is learnt that Ataullah will be taken to New Delhi by air on Wednesday.
