Minister for Tribal Welfare, Tourism and Culture Ajmeera Chandulal said that the State government would take steps to provide road connectivity to all the tribal villages and hamlets in the State in the next three years.

Participating in a review meeting of the ITDA governing council at the Komaram Bheem complex in the town on Sunday as the chief guest, he said that the State government was committed to the welfare and upliftment of the tribal community and for this purpose, allocated Rs 6170 crore in the annual budget during this financial year.
The Tribal Minister said that road constructions works would be taken up in 2331 tribal villages in the State that do not have cement concrete roads.
In Adilabad district, Rs 73 crore were sanctioned for constructing roads in villages in all the ten constituencies. He said that coaching centres were set up in the district and 180 tribal students were given coaching to appear for the Civil service examinations. Minister Chandulal said six gurukul ashram schools were sanctioned for the Adilabad district.
In his speech, Minister for Forests and Environment Jogu Ramanna pulled up the officials for failing to coordinate with each other in implementing the health, education and social welfare programmes for the tribal community though crores of rupees were sanctioned for the same.
He asked them as to why they failed to work in tandem. He told the officials concerned to take steps and prevent the spread of seasonal diseases during the rainy season.
The hospitals should be kept clean and tidy, especially the bed sheets for in-patients he added. He said that steps should be taken to appoint adequate medical staff like gynecologists in the hospitals, by giving advertisements.
The Minister said that 229 villages in the district should get drinking water facility by the end of October. The tribal villages should not suffer for want of water, he added.
Adilabad MP Gadem Ganesh said that the officials should take steps and resolve the issues facing the district on time. The vacancies in the Bed colleges should be filled up and the school at Icchhoda should be upgraded, he added.
District Collector M Jaganmohan said that steps would be initiated to boost the tourism potential in the district and make it the top tourist destination in the State.
