Hyderabad: The Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy came in for sharp criticism for his comments that there was no agreement with Maharashtra in regard to Tummidi Hatti project height during united Andhra Pradesh.

During the three hour long CLP (Congress Legislature Party) meeting, held here on Monday, the Deputy floor leader in Assembly, T Jeevan Reddy and other leaders are said to have taken strong objection to the remarks of Jana Reddy and said that time and again his statements were going against the party line which was causing embarrassment to them and was causing damage to the party image in the state.

Reacting to this, Jana Reddy strongly objected by saying that ‘questioning him would be like questioning the party itself’ and that no one should question his loyalty to the party. He said that his statements were twisted by some media houses to suit the government’s stand.

The CLP also decided to demand CBI investigation into the Nayeem case. They also demanded that the government make the contents of his ‘diary’ public. Another important issue that figured during the meeting was carving of new districts.

D K Aruna expressed her discontent with the way the district reorganisation was being taken up by the government and felt that the party should take up the issue and see that the division was done in a more scientific manner.
