Bathukammas were decorated with various kinds of flowers like thangedu, banthi , gummadi and ganuga on the occasion. Khammam Mayor Dr Papalal and Tahsildar (Khammam urban) Ganta Srilatha also participated in the celebrations.  They participated in the singing and dancing.

Khammam: The Bathukamma festival, which symbolises the traditions and culture of the Telangana State should bring light into the lives of people, said the Zilla Parishad Chairperson, G Kavitha and Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay’s wife Vasanthalakshmi. Participating in the Bathukamma celebrations at the Bomma Engineering College in the town on Wednesday, Vasanthalakshmi said that the festivals that symbolise Telangana culture have come to light only after the formation of the Telangana State. She said that it was a matter of great pride for the people of Telangana State to organise the celebrations of Bathukamma festival on a grand scale.

Later, they held a huge rally and immersed (nimajjanam) the Bathukamma idols. Chairman of Bomma Educational institutions Bomma Rajeshwara Rao, vice-chairman Bomma Satya Prasad, secretary Udaru Sridhar, Bomma school principal Madhavi and Treasurer Bomma Lakshmi Rajyam were present on the occasion.
