Mahabubnagar: Nijalapur village under Moosapet Mandal of Mahabubnagar is all set to become a model village soon with 100 per cent development in all sectors in the district. As part of the action plan for the development of the village, the villagers of Nijalapur formed ‘village development committees’, which will act as a platform for all the villagers, local leaders and youth to come together and discuss the necessary basic facilities required for the village.
“Every village must form the ‘village development committees’ so that it will help the people to take decisions and draw action plan for the development of the village. At present Nijalapur has achieved 70 per cent development, however with the formation of new committee, I am expecting this village will soon achieve 100 per cent development and become a model villages,” said Ronald Rose, Collector Mahabubnagar while taking part in a programme in the village.
The Collector said that the villages of Gangadevarapally and Ibrahimpur in Medak district have achieved 100 per cent development and have stood as examples for others. At present Nijalapur has constructed 100 per cent toilets and is far ahead in sending all children to schools. Even health wise, the village has achieved 100 per cent deliveries in government hospitals.
However, it has to yet to reach 100 per cent success in construction of sink pits and has to do a lot in plantation of trees under Harithahaaram. Similarly, the village is facing problems of inefficient supply of power and drinking water availability in the village also needs to be improved.
In order to reach the required development targets in the village, 7 committees were formed and each committee is given the task of looking over the development activities. “We have created awareness among the people in the village that irrespective of political affiliations they should unite.
We could succeed on this front and have achieved 100 per cent toilet constructions in the village. With this spirit we are expecting that the villagers will soon overcome all the problems and the village will attain number one status and stand as role model to others,” said, Ala Venkateshwar Reddy, MLA Devarkadra, while taking part in the programme.
While interacting with the villagers, the Collector urged the youth in the village to take responsibility as they play a vital role in the development. He also praised the role of women self help groups for their active participation in all development programmes.
