The High Court at Hyderabad directed the Telangana State government to return the seized six looms and two cars to the Hyderabad-based Balaji Mixed Fabrics Handloom Weavers Cooperative Production and Sales Society within three days.

The division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akhter gave this direction while hearing a Writ Appeal petition filed by the Society.

The State government had sealed the APCO office situated at Narayanguda in Hyderabad recently and seized the looms and cars present there.

APCO is listed in the Ninth Schedule of AP Reorganisation Act 2014, which mandated division of assets and liabilities of APCO between Andhra Pradesh and successor State of Telangana. However, this was not done so far and in the meanwhile Telangana State government sealed the office in Narayanguda.

The petitioner approached the High Court against the seizure and the single judge had in his order directed the petitioner to represent to the officials concerned. Aggrieved by this order, a writ appeal was filed before the division bench.

Telangana Special Government Pleader Mahender Reddy informed the bench that the government was ready to hand over the seized looms and cars to the petitioner society.

Recording this submission, the division bench passed the order to return the seieed items within three days and disposed of the petition.
