Hyderabad: The State government’s innovative TS-iPASS Act for fast track clearances for prospective investors to set up industries in the State has helped secure unprecedented Rs 54,000 crore investment. Stating this in the address to the joint session of State legislative Assembly and Council on Friday, the Governor E S L Narasimhan said the State government had introduced TS-iPASS for providing a transparent, simple and graft-free system to give fast track clearances to the prospective investors within 15 days though a ‘single window without grills’ and it had made all the difference. Industry-friendly policies and world-class infrastructure in the State has led to a spurt in the number of IT and ITES units coming to the State.

The State contributed about 12 per cent to the total IT exports in the country and Hyderabad stood second in terms of the total revenue from the IT sector in the country. The value of the total IT exports in 2015-16 from the State stood at Rs 75,070 crore, providing direct employment to over 4 lakh persons, he said.

He said the IT sector is going to get further boost following the State government announcement of polices for ICT, Electronic, IMAGE for Animation and Gaming Industry, Innovation, Rural Technology, Data Centres, Open Data, Cyber Security and Data Analytics.
