Osmania University will be closing few courses for admissions this year following the low response received for them.

Osmania University will be closing few courses for admissions this year following the low response received for them.

The post-graduate and PG diploma courses in Kannada, Marathi, applied linguistics, Persian, functional Hindi and translation had only few applicants with 53 candidates getting enrolled.

Apart from the less applicants, the scarcity of staff in the departments dealing with these courses also is causing an issue.

Courses with a lot of demand such as geophysics and geochemistry are also causing a problem with the lack of staff. Keeping in view of these considerations, the administration has decided to close these courses.
