Animal welfare organisations rescued six snakes from different parts of the State. The rescued snakes were Cobra, which were defanged and dehydrated. The snakes were rescued from Kamareddy- one, one From Bommala Ramaram, one from Begum Bazar and the remaining three from Vardhannnapet.  

Hyderabad: Animal welfare organisations rescued six snakes from different parts of the State. The rescued snakes were Cobra, which were defanged and dehydrated. The snakes were rescued from Kamareddy- one, one From Bommala Ramaram, one from Begum Bazar and the remaining three from Vardhannnapet.

All the rescued snakes require immediate veterinary care as their mouths were stitched. Mahesh Agarwal General Secretary of Sahayog Organisation said, “Due to continuous awareness campaigns, snake charmers are now operating from districts.”

Catching snakes or causing injury to them is a legal offence which can lead to imprisonment under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, he said. “The raids will continue on July 29 as well and the snakes would be handed over to the forest department for further proceedings,” he added.
