Siddipet: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy inaugurated 20 units of double-bedroom housing facility constructed for the nomad tribe, especially at Pittalawada of Mandapalli mandal in Siddipet district.

Speaking on the occasion here on Friday, Harish said dreams of the nomad tribe came true as they were getting two-bedroom houses free of cost from the government. The aim of the government was to provide housing facility to the poor, he said.

The Minister warned that serious action would be taken if these houses were put for sale, purchased, or given on rent. The new house owners should enjoy staying in the houses allotted to them, he said, adding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wanted to provide the housing facility to the poor for their self-respect.

“We will give you monetary assistance for marriage of girls under Kalyana Lakshmi scheme,” he said. The government would construct 2.70 lakh double bedroom houses, including one lakh in Hyderabad for the poor in one year, he added.

The new house owners should send their children to schools for better future instead of encouraging their old profession. The government was ready to extend all support to the nomad tribe with all facilities, he said.

Harish Rao said Telangana State was second to none in the welfare sector and started the housing scheme like no other State in India, Harish said.

Speaking on the occasion, Indrakaran Reddy vowed to complete the housing facility on time and distribute them among the poor. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi government was spending huge funds for welfare and completing projects as per schedule, the Minister said.
