Hyderabad: Heavy rain with thunderstorms occurred at some places in Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Karimnagar and Mahbubnagar districts during the last 24 hours, thanks to the normal Southwest Monsoon.

The Met department bulletin said there was heavy rain of seven cm in Atmakur (Warangal). Six cm of rain each occurred in Khanapur (Warangal), Kusumanchi (Khammam), Hanamkonda (Warangal) and Nagarjunasagar (Nalgonda).

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Shayampet (Warangal), Huzurabad (Karimnagar) Parkal, Nallabelly (both in Warangal), Bheemadevarpalle (Karimnagar), Devarakonda (Nalgonda) 5 cm each; Maganoor (Mahbubnagar), Tekulapalle (Khammam), Gudur (Warangal) 4 cm each; Nalgonda, Julurpad (Khammam), Venkatapur, Dharmasagar (both Warangal), Chinna Chintakunta (Mahbubnagar), Narsampet, Hasanparthy (both Warangal), Narayanpet (Mahbubnagar) and Yellandu (Khammam) 3 cm each.

According to the bulletin, heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in all Telangana districts on September 7, as the north-south trough from interior Odisha to south Tamil Nadu, now runs from interior Odisha to north coastal Andhra Pradesh with an embedded cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood.
