Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit echoed the vastu sentiment of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and suggested that changes be made to the existing Secretariat building instead of constructing a new complex at Bison Polo grounds. It may be recalled here that the opposition and civil society organisations have been opposing the construction of a new secretariat complex at Bison Polo grounds.

Speaking to media, on his return to Hyderabad after one-week long Telangana Vimochana Yatra, Laxman said Hyderabad has already become a concrete jungle and there is no lung space as one third of the population of Telangana resides in the city. “If there are any vastu related problems, the Chief Minister should correct them as per the advice of vastu experts,” he added.

When asked why the centre had agreed for handing over Bison Polo ground, Laxman said the Centre may have taken a favourable decision as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government might have sought land in public interest. But, it is for the State government to see if it can avoid unnecessary spending of public money as a secretariat complex already exists and necessary corrections as per vastu could be made.

Giving details of his one-week long Telangana Vimochana Yatra, Laxman said they would erect statutes of Shoaibullah Khan and Sheik Bandagi who fought against Razakars. He said the arrangements for the public meeting in Nizamabad, which would be addressed by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, were on in full swing.

The BJP State president said it was unfortunate that some people were giving religious colour to the Liberation Day issue and reiterated the demand that the government should include the struggle faced by the people of Telangana who fought against Razakars in school syllabus.

He said if BJP is voted to power in the next elections, apart from celebrating it as official function, it would develop the villages which witnessed the fight of rural folks with the Razakars as knowledge centres with a budget of Rs 1,000 crore.

Reacting to the farmers societies, the BJP leader said GO 39 was undemocratic and was against the spirit of 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendments and undermines the importance of the local bodies.
