Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) officials vowed to speed up the issuance of new drinking water connections by the virtue of their new mobile app scheduled to be launched very soon.

The HMWS&SB officials claimed that the Water Board would be making the process of issuing connections through Single Window Cell in a decentralised way. The connection would be materialised within five days of the payment of charges.

The Water Board managing director M Dana Kishore held a review meeting with the officials concerned on Wednesday and discussed various issues of G-Mitra Survey, Pollution and Sewerage complaints. It was informed that road cutting charges for BPL families would be borne by the board.

Dana Kishore asked the officials to check why the sewerage overflowing complaints were coming from the same area. It was analysed that nearly 5,000 commercial consumers were not having silt chambers and that was resulting in the sewerage overflow.
