According to the authorities, Kunta Pentamma (65), a resident of Khajapur village in Shankarampet mandal of Medak district died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital, after suffering with dengue for the past one week.

Medak: A 65-year-old woman died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital after suffering with dengue for the past one week. According to the authorities, Kunta Pentamma (65), a resident of Khajapur village in Shankarampet mandal of Medak district died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital, after suffering with dengue for the past one week.

This happened almost a month after Kamalamma (55), a resident of Toopran had died of dengue while undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

As per sources, there are at least four patients being treated for dengue at Gandhi Hospital from different areas of united Medak district currently.

This has raised speculation of more people falling prey to the deadly virus and has put onus on the Medical and Health officials to conduct tests in the villages to check possible spread of dengue. Pentamma who died on Saturday hailed from a very poor family and is survived by her husband Pochaiah, a son and a daughter.
