To stop the usage of plastic bags, we would pick up wet waste on a daily basis and dry waste once in a week. The people who collected dry waste were gifted a jute bag. |
A Yadagiri of BHEL Avemach Colony, Alwal said that in our colony, we have been practising Community Composting, Haritha Haram, Swachh Hyderabad and other programmes of the civic body. We have 217 houses in our colony and have water harvesting pits to improve the ground water levels. The Swachh Award definitely encouraged us, they said. |

President Guri Shetty Chandrashekar of Vasavi Colony said that they asked the residents to segregate the waste; and with the help of GHMC a vehicle is arranged for dumping garbage. There are 12 roads passing though Vasavi Colony and we make sure that garbage is picked up from all the areas regularly, he said. |
