Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has suggested that the proposed World Telugu Conference should be held amidst the Telugu Literary personalities who are striving for the development and enriching of the Telugu language and literature.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has suggested that the proposed World Telugu Conference should be held amidst the Telugu Literary personalities who are striving for the development and enriching of the Telugu language and literature.
The Chief Minister wanted besides the President, Vice President, Telugu speaking Chief Ministers and the Governor should be invited. He said besides the Telugu scholars, scholars and eminent literary figures from other languages should also be invited and felicitated. He wanted proper arrangements be made for invites for their travel, boarding and lodging and one in charge should be there for each dais. He said, for the inaugural function, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Mauritius Vice President Pramasivan and Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao will attend and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu should also be invited. He said President Ramanath Kovind would be the chief guest at the valedictory function.
KCR held a review meeting at Pragati Bhavan here to review the preparatory works going on for the World Telugu Conference to begin from December 15. Ministers T Harish Rao, Etela Rajender, Government Chief Whip Koppula Eswar, Chief Secretary SP Singh, DGP Mahender Reddy, Government’s Advisor KV Ramanachary, Sahitya Academy Chairman Nandini Siddha Reddy, Telugu University VC SV Satyanarayana, Official Language Commission Chairman Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu, Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman CV Anand, Principal Secretary (R&B) Sunil Sharma, Principal secretary (Cultural Affairs) Burra Venkatesham, Director Mamidi Harikrishna, Grandhalaya Parishad Chairman Ayachitam Sridhar, Tourism Development Corporation MD Christina, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VV Srinivas Rao, Principal secretary to CM S Narsing Rao, Special Secretary Bhoopal Reddy, OSD Desapathy Srinivas and others participated.
The Chief Minister has examined the design of the main dais at Lal Bahadur Stadium and Thoranams (hanging decorations) and wanted the inaugural valedictory functions to be done on a high scale. He wanted Hyderabad to be decked up for the occasion.
"Organise inaugural and valedictory functions at LB Stadium. Along with the scholars, literary admirers will also come in large number and hence arrangments for the traffic, parking and security should be made. Organise variety of programmes from morning to the night at the other daises. The main programmes should be held from 6 to 9 Pm daily at the LB stadium. Organise cultural programmes along with the literary ones there. Arrange food stalls with Telangana recipes at the LB Stadium. Arrange exhibition of other cultural forms. Organise a Laser show on Telangana history, culture, tradition and attire. On the last day there should be burst of firecrackers. Entire city should be decked up and should reflect festivity. He wanted welcome arches and decoration of junctions.
Along with Telugu, to mirror Hyderabad culture, he asked the officials to organise Urdu Mushairas and Qawwali. He said personalities who were doing service for the development Telugu in music, literary and cultural fields should be felicitated. They should be honoured by the government and invite each minister should felicitate such personalities in tune with Telangana culture and traditions. He said all MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Corporation Chairpersons, Mayors, elected representatives and officers from the civil services should be invited.
