Hyderabad : Telangana BJP President Dr. K. Laxman said that BJP nationally and regionally in Telangana had a momentous year in 2017.

"BJP rose to historic strength with power in 19 states across the nation. For the first time, BJP has more state governments than what Congress once had under Indira Gandhi’s leadership. Every year since 2014 had been a great year for BJP. I am very hopeful that it will be a fabulous year for BJP in 2018," said Dr Laxman in a media luncheon interaction with senior journalists on Tuesday.

Dr. Laxman claimed that the BJP's State unit has taken the party deep into the hearts and minds of masses in the villages of Telangana. "We are all set to fight and win against KCR led TRS, which has lost all faith amongst people of Telangana," he said.

"2017 for TRS was a year of losing people’s faith in their governance. People have waited patiently for over 3 years to see, if CM KCR would deliver on his manifesto promises, but they were left totally hopeless in this year," he said adding that the BJP was declaring an electoral war against TRS in the year 2018. "Congress has nothing new to offer to the people of Telangana and it will be rejected in this State as they are being rejected everywhere in India," he said.

Dr. Laxman said losing election after election has become a habit for Congress, so they started celebrating it too. He said Congress situation is pathetic across the country and it’s no different in Telangana. "Uttam Kumar Reddy and Congress are only day dreaming about coming to power in Telangana State," he said.

"BJP Telangana unit is doing everything right this time around and will go alone in the next elections. We will not have any alliances. BJP will fight alone and get elected to power in the next elections in Telangana State," said Dr Laxman.
