As part of Arogya Telangana health policy, Health and Medical Minister C Laxma Reddy along with Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao inaugurated the Wellness Centre for free medication at Sangareddy on Thursday. Government employees and pensioners including journalists can avail the facilities at the centre.

Government employees and pensioners including journalists can avail the facilities at the centre.
In total, more than 62,000 government employees including journalists and pensioners in the erstwhile Medak district will be benefited by this health facility. The centre was built at a cost of Rs 3 crore, it is the fourth facility that had been thrown open to State government employees, retirees and journos for their healthcare after two centres at Khairatabad and Vanasthalipuram each in Hyderabad and one in Warangal.
Speaking to media, Minister Harish Rao said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government was keeping its election promises. Out of 62,686 beneficiaries, 32,380 government employees including teachers and lecturers, 27,456 pensioners and 3,850 journalists of erstwhile Medak district will be benefitted by the wellness centre at Sangareddy with corporate level medical screenings and facilities including the weight room, he added.
So far, 2,15,000 women out of nine lakh aged below 30-year were screened and diagnosed with different cancer ailments in the district and most of them were also recommended for early treatment in super speciality hospitals in Hyderabad. The Minister added that the TRS government would recruit 10,000 posts in health department shortly.
Health Minster C Laxma Reddy said that his government was sincere in fulfilling poll promises of several welfare programmes including women and children health care department. The Central government is also showing interest and studying the health schemes implemented in the State in order to execute them in other States, the Health Minister said. Apart from this, 14 more wellness centres will be materialised across the State soon with super specialty features to ease the burden on facilities established in Hyderabad.
State Beverages Corporation Chairman Deviprasad requested that the government construct wellness centres at each and every district for the healthcare of the people. Government Chief Whip P Sudhakar Reddy said it would be appreciable if the teachers and staff working at model schools, Kasturba Girls’ schools and Residential schools were included in the scheme to get the health benefit from the wellness centres. State Press Academy chairman expressed his thanks to the government for concerning their requests and providing free health benefits to all kinds of ailments with the state-of-the-art facilities for journalists in the State.
Deputy Speaker Padma Devendar Reddy, Mahbubnagar MLA Srinivas Goud and MLCs Ramulu Naik and Bhupal Reddy who donated Rs 5 lakh for ambulance vehicle for district general hospital, Sangareddy MLA Chinta Prabhakar, District Collector Manick Raj Kannan, Wellness Centre & Arogyasri CEO K Padma, TNGOs Union State President Ravindar, ZPTC Chairman Rajakka and other officials including several journalists were also present at the programme.
