Hyderabad: BJPs' Hindutva plank will not work in Telangana as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is already a devout Hindu and also spiritually strong when compared to several saffron party leaders, IT minister KT Rama Rao has said.

In an informal chat with mediapersons at his chambers in the Secretariat, the minister said that KCR promoted Hindu religion by performing yagas, strengthened temples and promoted spirituality without giving any scope to communal clashes. KCR accorded utmost priority to communal harmony besides having a religious life. Not a single instance of law and order problem on religious grounds was reported from Telangana for the last four years.

The minister described KCR as the only leader who stood by principles and discharged his duties without showing any discrimination for any region.

KTR ruled out the BJP will emerge a strong force using Hindutva card when KCR himself was an ardent follower of Hindu religion. He also rubbished the reports that TRS was B team of BJP. The ruling party was neither a part of the BJP nor the Congress.

People of the Telangana are only the boss to the TRS, he said. Stating that the party’s slogan in the 2019 election will be ‘KCR’, he admitted that competition for the party ticket aspirants in all the Assembly constituencies increased with the migration of leaders from other parties.

His party is ready for elections any time. Lashing out at the Telangana Congress, KTR asked TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy to make public the details of the farmers who took Rs 2 lakh loans from the banks. After the implementation of Rs 1 lakh loan waiver scheme, farmers were relieved from debt burden.

He also sought to know the details of unemployed youth eligible for the Rs 3,000 unemployment dole as promised by Reddy recently. The TRS government has taken all measures to fill one lakh jobs in government sector, he added.

KTR dared the Congress to fight byelections in the Assembly constituencies from where the expelled MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and SA Sampath Kumar were elected.

He wondered why the Congress approached courts challenging the Speaker’s decision of removal of the two legislators form the Assembly when the Congress is confident of winning next elections in the state.
