Hyderabad: A 24-year old student from the State, who was studying at University of Missouri in the US, was shot dead, in a shooting incident inside a restaurant on Friday evening. Sharath Koppu, who hails from Warangal district, was found in a pool of blood with a bullet wound, which was shot from behind. The doctors at nearby hospital declared him brought dead.
The Kansas city police received information of a shoot-out at about 7 pm (local time) on Friday. About five rounds were fired at him, according to the eyewitnesses there. The parents of the deceased now reside in Hyderabad said that he was also working for a restaurant as part-time. According to his father, K Rammohan, a BSNL employee in city, Sharath completed his engineering at a private college in Warangal before moving to the US.
He was residing in Kansas City, Missouri, to pursue higher studies and was staying in 5303 Charlotte Street Apartment. In the shoot-out, two of the Sharath’s friends had a miraculous escape. Sharath’s parents met Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy on Saturday night and sought his help in securing information on their son.
