Buses stay off road

Hanamkonda: Unaware of the 24-hour nationwide motor-vehicle strike by transport unions, travellers, who turned up at Hanamkonda main bus station, had a tough time.

It may be mentioned here that several transport unions called for a nationwide strike in protest against the
Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill that allows private players to enter the public transport arena and allow the Centre to take away certain powers of the State governments.
