Hyderabad: Buoyed by the commencement of 24-hour free power supply in the State, Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to begin touring districts and inaugurate the government projects one per month and also take stock of the party at the ground level.

According to sources, the Chief Minister is slated to launch various government programmes during the year, which include the distribution of land pattas after the task of cleansing of records is completed, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, financial assistance of Rs 8,000 to the farmers during this year.

Party leaders said that the launching of 24-hour power supply is a big achievement for the TRS government as the government has turned impossible into possible. “The 24-hour power supply is the biggest of the promises made by the TRS and this should be seen as stepping stone to ‘Bangaru Telangana.’

No other government was giving 24-hour power supply in the country. Some States are giving 24-hour power supply, but it is not free and if the States are giving free power then it is not 24-hour supply,” said Government Chief Whip in Council P Rajeshwar Reddy.

The TRS leaders said that in the coming days, there would be much more for the government to give to the people. “This is just the beginning, more are to be followed. We will throw one programme after another to the people of the State,” said another TRS leader. The leader said that from now onwards, the Chief Minister would start one programme every month.

The Chief Minister would start the distribution process of land pattas after the task of cleansing of land records is completed in February. Similarly, the Chief Minister is likely to start one of the ambitious programmes of the government, the Mission Bhagiratha. KCR would start the Mission Bhagiratha scheme, aimed at providing potable water to every household in the State in March.

The Chief Minister would start the fresh round of important programme of Mission Kakatiya in April. The phase-IV of the Mission Kakatiya would be launched by the government in April taking up restoration of 9,000-odd tanks in the State. During the month of May, the Chief Minister is likely to start another ambitious programme of financial assistance of Rs 8,000 per acre to the farmers in the State. The financial assistance of Rs 8,000 (for two crops Rabi and Kharif in a year) is seen as an investment by the government.

There are more works in store in the second half of the year as the Chief Minister would start various power projects and also irrigation projects.
